Skinny treasure hunt in Glasgow

Scottish magazine The Skinny are running a treasure hunt around Glasgow next week (starting Monday 28th March); they'll be hiding limited coloured 7" vinyl copies of Euphoria, Take My Hand around the city, and revealing clues to the locations on their website.

Confirmed for V Festival

Glasvegas are confirmed for V Festival 2011; the band will play at Hylands Park in Chelmsford on Saturday August 20th, and at Weston Park in Staffs on Sunday 21st.

Tickets for the festival are already sold out, unless you fancy a luxury camping berth for Chelmsford. They range from £1650 to £6000 at time of writing, so presumably the bedsheets will be made of the finest unicorn hair.

BBC Radio Scotland's Classic Scottish Albums documentary

BBC Radio Scotland broadcast a half-hour documentary on the debut Glasvegas album this morning, as part of their Classic Scottish Albums series.

You can listen online to the show via the BBC iPlayer for the next week (until midday on Monday July 5th), and read more about the series on the BBC Scotland website (other albums include The Jesus And Mary Chain's 'Psychocandy', and Big Country's 'The Crossing').

The show includes interviews with the band, producer Rich Costey and others.

The Glasvegas album was first released in the UK on September 8th 2008; you can find full details in the Releases section, and buy it from Amazon or iTunes.

Most radio programmes on iPlayer are also available outside of the UK, so non-UK fans should also be able to listen.

The band picked up 2 awards for : best cinematography in a video and best visual effect in a video for the hit 'Flowers & Football Tops'.

Glasvegas has been nominated for four UK Music Video Awards.

'Flowers & Football Tops,' directed by Martin de Thurah, is the single most nominated video, with four nominations for Best Rock Video, Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects and Best Cinematography In A Video.

Scottish radio stations are showing some big love for Glasvegas in support of the U2 dates and the recent Mercury award nomination by interviewing the band and playing some tunes, including a new version of It's My Own Cheating Heart and a live session. Here's some info:

James and Caroline will be interviewed for the In Demand Scotland network tonight, where they will be playing the new version of It's My Own Cheating Heart exclusively, for the first time. Tune in between 7-10pm to hear it.

Between 8-10pm tonight the band will be performing a live session for Vic Galloway on BBC Radio Scotland, where they'll be playing Daddy's Gone, It's My Own Cheating Heart and Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime. This will also be filmed for their website, so be sure to check out www.bbc.co.uk/radioscotland afterwards.

James will be on the phone with Real Radio Scotland tomorrow, where they will also be playing It's My Own Cheating Heart.

Glasvegas have been honoured with a Barclaycard Mercury Prize 2009 'An Album of the Year' nomination - a prestigious chart celebrating the best albums of the year gone, including both charting artists and those lesser known. The winner will be decided by a panel of critics music industry figures and announced on September 8th. The band are up against Florence & The Machine, Kasabian, Bat For Lashes, La Roux, Speech Debelle, Friendly Fires, The Horrors, Lisa Hannigan, The Invisible, Led Bib and Sweet Billy Pilgrim.
