Congratulations to Glasvegas for success at last week's UK Music Video Awards.

The band picked up 2 awards for : best cinematography in a video and best visual effect in a video for the hit 'Flowers & Football Tops'.

Congratulations also to Martin de Thurah who won the award for best director including work on the 'Flowers & Football Tops' video

Glasvegas round off yet another overwhelmingly successful year with a very special acoustic performance at This Feeling 3rd Birthday at Parker McMillan on October 30th. This intimate stripped down acoustic set will feature cousins James and Robert Allan performing songs from their critically acclaimed Mercury nominated debut album 'Glasvegas'. All profits from the night go to the Team Continuum Cancer Charity.

Glasvegas nominated for three UK Music Video Awards

Glasvegas has been nominated for four UK Music Video Awards.

'Flowers & Football Tops,' directed by Martin de Thurah, is the single most nominated video, with four nominations for Best Rock Video, Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects and Best Cinematography In A Video.

The band were in session with Vic Galloway for BBC Radio Scotland yesterday. If you didn't hear it or want to listen again you can do so here. Scottish radio stations are showing some big love for Glasvegas in support of the U2 dates and the recent Mercury award nomination by interviewing the band and playing some tunes, including a new version of It's My Own Cheating Heart and a live session. Here's some info:

James and Caroline will be interviewed for the In Demand Scotland network tonight, where they will be playing the new version of It's My Own Cheating Heart exclusively, for the first time. Tune in between 7-10pm to hear it.

Between 8-10pm tonight the band will be performing a live session for Vic Galloway on BBC Radio Scotland, where they'll be playing Daddy's Gone, It's My Own Cheating Heart and Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime. This will also be filmed for their website, so be sure to check out www.bbc.co.uk/radioscotland afterwards.

James will be on the phone with Real Radio Scotland tomorrow, where they will also be playing It's My Own Cheating Heart.

Barclaycard Mercury prize nomination

Glasvegas have been honoured with a Barclaycard Mercury Prize 2009 'An Album of the Year' nomination - a prestigious chart celebrating the best albums of the year gone, including both charting artists and those lesser known. The winner will be decided by a panel of critics music industry figures and announced on September 8th. The band are up against Florence & The Machine, Kasabian, Bat For Lashes, La Roux, Speech Debelle, Friendly Fires, The Horrors, Lisa Hannigan, The Invisible, Led Bib and Sweet Billy Pilgrim.

We want to apologise to ALL who came to see us at Coachella. James fell ill early that day and was unable to perform due to exhaustion and dehydration. Thanks for everyones positivity and messages of support. After saying "that song 'It's My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry' is one of the best songs I've ever heard" in the NME last month, Bono and U2 have specially invited Glasvegas to support them on a number of their UK stadium shows this summer, including the following dates:

Friday 24th July - Dublin Croke Park
Tuesday 18th August - Glasgow Hampden Park
Saturday 22nd August - Cardiff Millennium Stadium

Tickets for these special support slots will be available in advance via a U2 pre-sale and general onsale dates will be confirmed here.
